Awarded to members for their excellent efforts in the areas of safety, risk control and risk management. 

Since 2002, the SDRMA Board formally adopted Board Policy 2011-09 which outlines the consideration requirements for the award recipients:

• length of membership in SDRMA;
• credit incentive points awarded in the program year;
• members’ loss ratio at the end of the program year; and
• total losses paid in the last five program years

Board Policy 2011-09 also provides for a safety award for each program that consists of one large and one small member category (determined by operating budget for the Property/Liability Program and payroll for Workers' Compensation Program) for a total of four safety awards granted per program year.

Recipients are invited to attend CSDA's Annual Conference where they will be presented the award in front of an audience of their collegues.
